Janet Osoro
Janet is the Executive Director for Astoria Senior Living. She has dedicated her career to senior living, driven by a deep passion for creating meaningful connections and making a positive impact in the lives of residents. With a strong commitment to fostering a sense of community, dignity, and purpose, Janet ensures that seniors not only receive the highest quality of care but also feel valued and respected in a warm and welcoming environment.
Previously, Janet served as Director of Operations at Sunlight Senior Care, overseeing daily operations for 200+ clients, optimizing staff training, and driving service improvements. She also held leadership roles at Sunrise Country Manor and Resources for Human Development, enhancing care quality and team development.
Janet loves mentoring staff, optimizing operations, and building strong relationships that enhance both resident and employee experiences. Fluent in multiple languages, she enjoys reading, exercising, and relaxing at home with a good book or movie. For Janet, senior living is about creating a true sense of family and connection, making each day fulfilling and rewarding.
Diane Trew
Diane has a degree in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska at Kearney and has been in the Senior Living industry for over 10 years. Before joining Astoria of Omaha, she was an Assistant Executive Director for another Senior Living Community.
Caleigh Archer
Caleigh is the Life Enrichment Coordinator at Astoria Senior Living, joining the team in March 2024. With a passion for senior living, she has been dedicated to working in retirement communities since she was 17. Her experience includes three years in dietary services and one year as a CNA at Immanuel Lakeside, followed by two years as a Life Enrichment Assistant at Heritage at Legacy.
Caleigh finds every role in a senior living community fulfilling, but she especially loves being a part of each resident’s day by engaging them in meaningful activities. Her goal is to bring joy, connection, and enrichment to residents through thoughtfully planned programs.
In her free time, Caleigh enjoys weightlifting, hiking, running, and reading. Her favorite vacation spots are anywhere with mountains and scenic hiking trails.
Tammy Schaaf
Tammy is the Housekeeping Supervisor at Astoria Senior Living, bringing over 25 years of experience in the medical field. She has worked in various settings, including CHI Hospital NICU for six years, rehab centers for 15 years, and senior living facilities for over a decade.
Her experience in senior living has given her a deep sense of compassion for others. She believes that everyone, regardless of their circumstances, deserves kindness and care. Tammy is dedicated to providing a clean and comfortable environment for residents, ensuring they feel valued and respected.
What Tammy loves most about her work is the family-oriented culture at Agemark, where both staff and residents are treated with warmth and respect. One of her favorite memories at Astoria was dancing with residents at prom night, where she even learned how to do the jitterbug!
Outside of work, Tammy enjoys spending time with loved ones. If she could eat one thing for the rest of her life, it would undoubtedly be tacos!
Adam Sage
With 25 years of experience in the restaurant and kitchen industry, Adam has dedicated his career to delivering exceptional dining experiences. Over the past decade, he has taken on leadership roles as a Manager and General Manager, successfully overseeing operations and maintaining the highest standards of service. His expertise spans various culinary settings, including five years in country clubs and ten years in hospital and retirement communities—a role he finds deeply fulfilling, as it allows him to brighten someone’s day through his cooking.
Adam was part of Country House in Council Bluffs before joining Astoria in Omaha in October 2023. He particularly values the strong sense of family within the team and the close relationships formed with residents. Having worked with several senior communities, Adam believes Agemark stands out as the best of the best. His passion lies in creating warm, welcoming environments and bringing joy through food every day.
Felipe D. Merino
Felipe has been the Maintenance Supervisor at Astoria Senior Living since February 2023, bringing over 18 years of experience in the same building. He began his career as a Maintenance Assistant at Sunrise Senior Living (Brighton Gardens) in 2007 before the transition to Agemark. His deep familiarity with the building, inside and out, allows him to keep everything running smoothly while ensuring residents feel comfortable and cared for.
Felipe loves working with seniors and takes pride in his role, especially when he sees residents’ smiles after fixing something in their rooms. The strong connections he has built over the years make his job even more fulfilling. One of his favorite events is the annual car show in July, which brings joy to both residents and staff.
Originally from the Philippines, Felipe moved to the United States and has since made Astoria Senior Living feel like home. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family. His secret talent? He’s a skilled basketball player!
Ryan Hollis
Ryan has been the Maintenance Assistant at Astoria since March 2024. He enjoys the friendly and welcoming atmosphere created by the residents, who make every day more meaningful. For Ryan, working here is more than just a job—it’s about being part of a community where everyone feels included and valued.
He takes pride in ensuring everything runs smoothly and appreciates the gratitude residents show for his work and positive attitude. One memorable moment was when a resident called him a “magician” for fixing their TV, a reminder of the impact small acts of service can have.
In his free time, Ryan enjoys music, traveling, video games, camping, hiking, and spending time with his family.
