Diana Draper
Diana brings a wealth of healthcare and leadership experience to her role as Executive Director of Astoria. Her journey has spanned several impactful roles, including Executive Director at our sister community, CountryHouse II in Lincoln (84th & Pine Lake), Case Manager, Medical Assistant, laboratory technician, and leadership positions with other organizations. Her strong academic foundation includes a B.S. in Neuroscience from the University of Rochester in New York and an MHA from Oklahoma State University, along with certification as an Assisted Living Facility (ALF) Administrator.
Diana’s academic background reflects her deep interest in understanding how the nervous system influences behavior and learning. This expertise enriches her approach to resident care, especially in supporting those affected by memory-related conditions like Alzheimer’s.
Raised in a Hispanic household where elders are respected as “holders of wisdom,” Diana carries a deep cultural commitment to honoring older adults. She believes in the importance of listening to their stories and advocating for their needs, which drives her passion for resident-centered care.
Outside of work, Diana treasures time with her husband, Blake, and their young daughter, Navlynn. Together, they enthusiastically support Blake’s role as a men’s basketball coach at SCC, cheering from the stands. Diana’s dedication to compassionate care and her alignment with Astoria’s values make her an invaluable part of our community.
